LIVING FOOD & JUICING
Living food is food that has not been put through any form of processing, preservatives, heat, irradiation or other chemical processes as these tend to alter the contents and viability of its delicate enzymes and contents.
Advocates of living food pointed out that cooking and processing can destroy most of the enzymes, phytochemicals, vitamins and minerals found in vegetables and fruits, thus reducing and sometimes even totally eliminating the goodness of these food.

This trend of thought is increasingly being supported and accepted by the latest findings in nutritional researches. In fact, some of their most enthusiastic advocates are nutritional consultants. Even the USDA, National Cancer Institue, Surgeon General and the secretary of Health and Human Services all agree that we need to increase the consumption of fresh produce to include 2 to 4 servings of vegetables every day. One of the easiest ways to add them to your diet is to juice.

Very few people today eat enough raw fruits and vegetables. Juicing provides a quick and easy way to increase your consumption of these food, and is recommended in addition to a high fiber diet. The juice obtained is rich and concentrated with various phytochemicals, enzymes, vitamins and minerals. Absorption of juice is easy and gentle to the body, providing the body with a source of all these goodness that is immediate and easily assimilated.

Phytochemicals are chemicals which are exclusively found in plants. They are not available from animal source. Recent researches found that these phytochemicals may prevent common cancers such as breast cancer, prostate cancer, esophageal cancer, stomach cancer and colon cancer. In addition, the fiber in vegetables and fruits also improve bowel movement and reduce risk of colon cancer.

Chlorophyll is another chemical that is exclusively found in greens and its structure is very similar to haemoglobin, the red blood cells in our body that transport oxygen to the cells in the body. Consuming chlorophyll enhances the body's ability to produce haemoglobin, thus improving the efficiency of oxygen transport.

Traditionally, fruits and vegetables are rich source of vitamins and minerals. By juicing, they provide another important element - water - to the body. Our body is about 65% water, so it is absolutely essential for the health of the body.
